At an auctiuon event at Brands Hatch, Jamie Oliver’s VW Campervan (as seen on his round Italy tour Jamie’s Great Escape) was sold for the princely sum of £49,000 - not bad for a 1959, 23 window Samba Deluxe (seen here on the back of a breakdown truck!)

For some time, Chris Goslin has been almost single-handedly putting on The Caravan Channel on Sky channel 181. It first started early in 2006, and now features a new show each fortnight, being repeated on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6pm, and Sundays at 12.30pm.
From June 18th, it is now appearing on channel 167.
Although predominently concerning caravans, there are occasional features on motorhomes specifically, and there are many features common to both codes - e.g. campsites and accessories. It’s worth checking out.
It’s “no thank you, I think I’ve got something slighter better to do” time. Apparently, the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia decided they’d try to beat an Italian record for the longest rolling line of motorhomes. The current record is 671 vehicles, and the Aussies fell short by 44. Hah! Shame.

It seems the mappers drive around in bright orange vans, with video cameras sprouting all over. The best bit is that it’s fitted out as a motorhome, so the mappers can live out of the van for several weeks as they drive around Europe. The van fleet covers around 3.2 million kilometres per year.
Nice job? Maybe.
Sponsored / created by the Caravan and Camping Club, this annual event is now in its 7th year.

I just came across this page hidden in the murky depths of the BBC website.
It’s a little fan page of the Bedford Bambi. We saw the Owner’s Club at the Shepton Mallet show, who had a patch close to the shop. Some of them had little tents attached to them for a bit more space. Amazing motorhomes.
