The Camping and Caravanning Club (knows as the C&CC or just CCC) has unveiled a new logo along with its plans for 2008.
There are a number of new sites to bring the total to 103 club sites, available to its 450,000 members.

The brand new Auto-Sleepers Symbol ES will make its debut at the International Caravan and Motorhome show at the NEC.

Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Grommet, has taken delivery of a Danbury VW Type 2 campervan. He joins other famous owners such as Aggi from “How Clean is Your House” and DJ Neil “Doctor” Fox.

At an auctiuon event at Brands Hatch, Jamie Oliver’s VW Campervan (as seen on his round Italy tour Jamie’s Great Escape) was sold for the princely sum of £49,000 - not bad for a 1959, 23 window Samba Deluxe (seen here on the back of a breakdown truck!)

There’s a new Caravan Club site in the New Forest.
They call it a “Centenary Site”, and it’s opening on the 21st of September. If you want to try it out, you’ll need to be quick, because it’s closing again on the 21st of October, although pricing is shown for year-round access.

There are rumours that the Earls Court Caravan and Motorhome Show has been cancelled. The website has no news, and the only clue to what’s happened is that “Tickets are currently unavailable.”
Mind you, it’s hardly surprising - as I said way back in May (see link to show announcement :: here ::), the show was way too close to the much larger and more highly regarded NEC show, and certainly we wouldn’t have visited both.
As it is, we had already decided to ‘do’ the NEC show, as have, I suspect, many other visitors and exhibitors.
